Sunrise Sunset

Sunrise Sunset

Viewing the first sunrise is a Japanese tradition and many gather at beaches, hilltop parks, and other spots famous for viewing the sunrise.

This year, heavy clouds covered the horizon, unfortunately. But, we were able see parts of the sun peaking through here and there. Others seemed to be happy to be able to see bits of the sunrise, seeing the positive out of the negative. Gotta admit, the sunbeams shining down through the clouds were beautiful.

What was annoying was that the sky cleared up later in the morning. The clouds disappeared . . . until later in the afternoon, where low heavy clouds rolled in, covering the horizon again.

I didn't get a chance to take nice pics of the sunset until Saturday evening since it's been cloudy. The weather was clear, the sunset and the view of Mt. Fuji were beautiful. Viewing the first sunset isn't a Japanese tradition, but my own. If I'm viewing the sunrise, why not the sunset, too?

On my way home, I got a great view of the full moon.

Have you seen the full moon?
