HNW--the 718th . . . Gloves

This week's theme is Gloves. I keep about 3 pairs of winter gloves in my scooter. Two are waterproof, which came in handy the other day when it rained and I forgot to pack my rain gear for work (I always have a poncho in my scooter). It's not so cold that I'd be wearing gloves when walking outside, but I do keep a pair in my pocket just in case the temps drop.

How many gloves do you keep around?

On another note, we finally got a chance to have a Xmas dinner during my New Year break. It was just the family and a couple of friends. I spent the day slaving over the stove and my calves were killing me by the end of the night. But, we had a good time enjoying good food.

Of course, we had turkey, mashed potatoes, and gravy. But I also made fixings for tacos, roasted veggies and a salad. For dessert, I made chocolate cake, carrot cake, sweet potato tart, blueberry mousse, blueberry pie, and chocolate chip cookies.

My friend and I enjoyed a couple of bottles of wine, since neither of us were driving. She had a designated driver with her.

Of course, I made turkey soup the next day. I dropped in a couple of mochi in the soup to enjoy it in the Japanese way (mochi is usually eaten in a broth seasoned with soy sauce, tho).

(I tossed in a vid of the lights at the German Village light show I went to last year around this time).
