Wet day
We were hit by a typhoon for the first time this year. Typhoon #7 decided to grace us with its presence yesterday.
My boss said I didn't have to come in if the weather was too rough but I told him that I'll come in if the trains were running. Yeah, the trains were running when I left the house. ๐
Of course, on top of a typhoon coming, we were in the tail end of the obon holidays (one of the great human migration periods where people go back to their home towns) so there were much fewer people on the train. We were hearing announcements of suspended operations, and get this. There was also an announcement to ask us to change our schedules--while we were sitting on the train. Kinda late for that, ain't it? ๐คจ Only in Japan, yo. ๐
It was raining off an on all morning, but when it rained, they weren't playing around. I kept an eye on the weather and train schedules. There was a daily report that I had to finish up before lunch and I had a project to finish up, too. I figured I'd leave early once they were finished.
As I was keeping track of the weather, I read that the storm was going to be at its peak from noon to evening, so I decided to leave before lunch while the going is good. I was already finished with my report and the project I was working on by then.
I had a couple of buddies who were worried about me and made me promise to let them know that I made it home safe and sound. Felt the love all the way across the globe, yo ๐ฅฐ
By the time I get to home turf, what do I do? The odd person that I am, I take a detour to go see the waves crashing up on the rocks--while it's pissing down rain. The wind wasn't too bad, tho. The place I went to are my snorkeling spots. Clearly I won't be doing any snorkeling this weekend.
On my way back home, I saw that my favorite cafe was open, despite the rain. I enjoyed a nice seafood curry and a caramel cheesecake with Earl Grey tea for dessert. Man, was a stuffed! Cheesecake for dessert is a bit too heavy after eating curry. I should've stuck with the lemon pie.
