Enigma is soooo gonna hate this title! hee hee hee
The tide was high, but the water was supposed to be calm, so I headed over to rough cape again. This time, I made sure I had an extra battery charged.
When I got to the parking lot, I was hearing locals griping about how business was slow this year because of not only the excessive heat, but also because of the concerns over the Nankai Trough earthquake that's making headlines these days. I did notice that the parking wasn't packed like it used to be in past years. Private land owners used to rent out space for parking during the summers but I guess they didn't earn as much from parking like they did in the past.
The water was really calm, and it looked much clearer than it usually is, but my camera seemed to have a different opinion since it had trouble focusing, so a few vids came out blurry. Dammit. I saw a small pod of squid an when I excitedly pointed my camera at them, I ended up with a blob of ink in front of the lens. Not the kind of squirting I'd prefer to experience. LOL
I was surprised to see several moorish idols swimming about. I also saw a bright blue fish like the ones I saw in Okinawa. I couldn't get a closer look since it was moving so fast. It could be a type of wrasse, since they can be pretty colorful, too.
All in all, it was a good day for snorkeling. Not sure how many more chances I'll have since we're heading into typhoon season. Typhoon #10 seems to be heading our way. Ugh.
I had a chance to stop by for some yummy soft-serve ice cream. The flavor du jour was cocoa and milk. Yum!
