14th Blogiversary
Today, April 8, 2024, would've been my 14th Blogiversary on AFF.
My first post on April 8, 2010, was just a short blurb with a photo of the cherry blossom.

Went for a walk on a warm and sunny spring day during the cherry blossom season. | ||
Back then, we could pretty much predict when the cherry blossoms would bloom, somewhere around late March to early April. They usually bloomed in time for either the graduation season or the start of the new school year. The timing has been shifting these past years and it's become harder to predict. Many places had festivals planned for around the same time as last year, but the cherry blossoms bloomed a couple of weeks later.
Some types bloomed earlier, some around the same time, and some bloomed later than usual. These are the various types of cherry blossoms I came across this year. Most cherry blossoms festivals are planned around the time the Kawazu Sakura or Somei Yoshino bloom.

Well Happy Blogiversary nonetheless!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll keep up the tradition here. Too bad I don't have fodder for my Bumbling Babble series đ
DeleteHappy 14th Blogiversary. It's a shame that a certain Ali has somewhat marred the occasion!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll just have to keep up the tradition here. But then, my blogging life started on AFF, so it's still a 14th blogging anniversary for me.
DeleteMy original comment here disappeared by the looks of it.. Happy 14th Blogversary. It would have been my 9 year on the 15th of this month..
ReplyDeleteIt's still the anniversary of blogging, so it doesn't matter where you celebrate it đ
DeleteHappy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteBloom times definitely seem to be changing. I have daffodils ready to pop in my front yard, it feels like that's about three weeks early (I really should keep a garden journal).
It was really weird this year. The weather was really wacky this year. It was warmer than usual in winter, so the early blooming ones bloomed early or around the same time as last year, but temps dropped in March, so the Somei Yoshino bloomed about a week or so later than in recent years.
DeleteHappy Bloganniversary! Wow...so many cherry blossom. It was bit late this year? I wonder it's blooming in Sakurayama.

DeleteThe blossoms in Sakurayama were so lovely. Of course, I got to enjoy driving under the canopy of pink đ
