HNW--the 675th . . . Food

I'll be keeping up with the Wednesday tradition here, although it'll never be the same. One summer, Enigma and her merry band of miscreants had jolly fun with cucumbers. I look forward to the day we can get back to having fun in the Community.

Can cucumbers be a sign of solidarity?

If you're an HNW enthusiast and haven't joined yet, visit the &HNWBloggers and join in the fun! It's so exciting to see more joining in the fun and festivities! Aren't Wednesdays great?

BHL's Half-Nekkid Wednesdays--HNW has turned into a weekly tradition thought up by BlackHeatLust, a fellow blogger from Michigan. Who'd've thought that one idea would've spread so far and wide and loved by so many? Tho BHL isn't with us under this handle anymore, let's make sure that we give credit where credit is due and not assume credit where it doesn't belong, shall we? Thanks for the fun Wednesdays, George!

Happy Half-nekkid Wednesday!

  1. I don't see putting up half naked pics of myself here. I don't know, maybe I'll figure it out. And, how are they MY miscreants? 🤣😂 I kid, I know how it happened. Sure, cukes can be a sign of solidarity for sure.

    1. These cucumbers are "nukazuke," pickled in fermented rice bran. The fermented bran can be kept for years long as it's kept in a cool, dark place and stirred regularly. I buy the pickles from a veggie shop, tho, since these shops make their own without using preservatives, unlike ones sold at the supermarket.

    2. I like Japanese pickles. Veggies are pickled in salt or nuka, not vinegar. Don't like the American pickles you see on burgers.
